My little blue book has taken me places and given me life-changing experiences, opportunities and memories that I want to share, inspire and encourage you all, with my stories, strategies and travel tips.
Janine and I will tell stories to inspire the newbie traveler, the less experienced, the single mom, the recently retired, solo and family groups that hopefully will learn our best travel tips, strategies ways to save and a heads up on things not to miss on a a trip.
In my experience, travel is a skill. There will be times you have to leave your western mindset at home and embrace a culture outside of your comfort zone.
My blog will show you how to be very strategic, travel on a budget, if you desire, find the cheapest flights to the most interesting places, and have life-changing experiences.
You will learn how to decide on a destination; and most importantly how to open your mind, embrace the food, traditions and cultures of others and enjoy the world of travel!
Expect to see blog posts from my travel buddies and information about how culture entered our life when my then 16 year old son Miles had a study abroad experience when he was in high school. And how this high school intercultural experience helped both of my kids to become culturally savvy.
My Travel Style
Just to be clear, I’m not one of those digital nomads, (at least not yet). I did not quit my job, homeschool my kids or sell everything to travel the world.
Nope, that’s surely not me. On the other hand, I’m also not a luxury traveler, with expensive luggage, staying in the penthouse of a 5-star American-style hotel… nor have I ever stayed in an all-inclusive resort. Nope, that’s not me right now – but maybe someday!
But for now, I’m a single, sassy, brassy mom, currently living in Vietnam with my daughter; and coming soon you can read about our Vietnam adventures and read about Janine’s fiasco getting to the UK for graduate school.
So, to get away from it all…we hop on a plane, train or in the car — as travel renews the soul.
