During my travels I stay almost exclusively in hostels. I thought I’d share my reviews of some of the hostels I’ve stayed in and whether or not I’d recommend you stay there too on your next trip! On my solo travels across Europe, my second stop after Paris was in Barcelona, Spain. The Barcelona hostel where I booked a two-night stay was the Yeah Hostel Barcelona.
This hostel is located a 5-minute walk away from the Verdaguer metro station. And it is also nearby Passig de Gracia an avenue known for the shopping, businesses and architecture that lines the street. And it’s also within walking distance to the famous Sagrada Familia.
The Yeah Hostel Barcelona was one of my favorite Hostels during my time travelling. I stayed in a 4 bed women’s dorm ensuite. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean, and the room I stayed in had a partial balcony where you could open the door to get some fresh air and also see the Barcelona streets below.
The Hostel Dorms
I only stayed in this hostel for 2 nights and paid 30.50 for a 4-bed women’s dorm ensuite. My stay in this hostel was back in the fall of 2021 and after checking on hostelworld.com, the same room is available at around 22 Euro. You can find even cheaper options available in the mixed dorms or dorms with 6 beds.
While staying at the Yeah Hostel Barcelona, I felt safe. When you arrive you are given a wristband that is your room key as well as a key to enter the front door of the hostel.
This makes it easy to keep track of your key throughout your stay and it’s also easier for staff to identify the guests with this wristband (although it is not mandatory that you wear it).
This hostel had one of the best social atmospheres. Like many hostels they hosted nightly events like a group dinner or activity. For a fee you are able to have enjoy one of the provided meals at the hostel with 3 drinks included. This is one of the best ways to socialize in the hostel.
The Hostel also has plenty of lounge space for people to be social in, like the dining area or the rooftop bar. But they also provide more quiet spaces for people to do work in or read in full of beds, couches, chairs and tables.
My Yeah Hostel Barcelona Review
When I stayed here, I enjoyed the paella dinner that the hostel provided. And later, I ended up going out with the other hostel guests and I went out into town to a salsa dancing club.
Now I can’t promise that all the guests will be as social as when I went. But overall, the Yeah Hostel Barcelona was still a very clean, safe, and fun place to rest your head (but still quiet at night) while in Barcelona, Spain.
I would definitely stay at this hostel again and I recommend anyone else who is stopping in Barcelona, Spain to stay here as well. 5/5 stars.
I book all my hostels through Hostelworld. They have good cancellation policies for booking, in case you aren’t 100 percent sure about your accommodation plans. And it’s nice to have all of my future and past hostel information in one place on the Hostelworld app.
