Here are our favorite Budget Hotels in Nairobi
There are many western style upscale expensive hotels in downtown Nairobi Kenya. but, as a budget traveling family, we were not interested in paying high prices to sleep in downtown Nairobi.

Khweza Bed and Breakfast
Located on Ngara Rd, Nairobi, Kenya
If you want a great place to stay that is only a few minutes from Downtown Nairobi, you cannot go wrong staying at the Khweza Bed and Breakfast Hotel in Nairobi.
This budget hotel is very clean, comfortable, staff are wonderful and so is the price, which includes breakfast each morning.
The Khweza Bed and Breakfast also has a roof top restaurant that give you great view of the city of Nairobi.

Mdawida Homestay Guesthouse
Sun Valley Phase 1, House 135, Police Dog Unit Road, Off Kungu Karumba Rd, Nairobi, Kenya, near St. Mary Mission Hospital in Langata.
Mdawida Homestay Guesthouse is a bit further from downtown Nairobi, but our stay there was every bit worth the short distance.
Mdawida was a cozy, clean and secure homestay. There were also another mother and daughter guests staying there, which made it all the more enjoyable.
Serah, the owner made our stay even more personable making sure she updated us on where the fun places to eat, shop and the best Nairobi activities such as the Giraffe center, and the elephant orphanage to name a few.
How did we get around in Nairobi
We either used Uber or once we were familiar with our location, we caught the local Matatu.
Using Uber in Nairobi is similar to using Uber anywhere. Use the Uber app and make sure your car, license plate and Uber driver match the pickup information for your ride.
Keep in mind Uber may not be available in all smaller Kenyan cities, towns and villages, so make sure you check your Uber app before placing an order for a pickup.
